Fourth grade students recently had Entrepreneur Day as a culminating activity for their studies about entrepreneurship, land, labor, capital, goods and services. Student worked independently or with a "business" partner to design a product at home to sell to the entire school. They learned what it was like to be their own boss, about supply and demand, profit and loss, and advertising. They used their parents as the "bank lender" and learned about repaying loans for start up costs.

While students learned that it is not easy to make and market a product for profit, many were quite pleased to see that their product did indeed return a profit. A few students in Mr. Huecker's class plan to donate their profit to a favorite charity.
