&lt;P align=left&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=5&gt;We will be reading &lt;U&gt;Around the Pond &lt;/U&gt;this week with our comprehension strategy focus being &lt;STRONG&gt;Monitor and Clarify&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&amp;nbsp; Our class is&amp;nbsp;learning that&amp;nbsp;real reading = text + thinking! During our reading, we are finding our own mistakes and going back to re-read.&amp;nbsp; We are&amp;nbsp;stopping at each page to think about the story and looking at picture clues to clarify our understanding of the story. We are also learning to identify all four types of sentences: declarative (telling), interrogative (asking), commands, and&amp;nbsp;exclamation&amp;nbsp;sentences.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P align=left&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=5&gt;This week in math we will be solving number patterns and identifying the rules to multiple step patterns.&amp;nbsp; We will also practice making change by counting up!&amp;nbsp;We will be collecting data and making and analyzing bar graphs.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P align=left&gt;&lt;FONT face=Arial size=5&gt;In Science, we will continue with our plant unit.&amp;nbsp; We will learn about the imporant parts of plants, what plants need&amp;nbsp;and seed dispersal.&lt;/FONT&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
