I hope everyone enjoyed the "Rainy Day" stories that came home. The children worked very hard on them. They have also been working very hard to prepare for the upcoming achievement tests. We are continuing our novel, "Boy in the Girl's Bathroom". Ask your child about this entertaining book. There are some very humorous parts.
The Spring Carnival is coming up on Friday, May 16th, from 5:00-8:00p.m. Our class will be sponsoring the Plinko booth. I need parent volunteers, that are willing to work a 30 minute shift. If you can help, please send me a note. Be sure to specify whether an early or later time would be better for you. We will also be having a theme basket for the silent auction. I believe ours will be materials need for gift giving, such as wrapping paper, bows, ribbon, tape, cards, and anything else you can think of. I'll let you know next week for sure, if that will be our theme.
Several students earned an "A" on our last practice achievement test. They were Megan, Mikala, Wesley, Josh, Michael, Kate, Sara, and Nick! Great job everyone!!! Keep up the good work!
Congratulations also goes to the students who earned an "A+" on the trial spelling test. They were Megan, Kelsy, Wesley, Michael, and Kate! Way to go super spellers!
Last week we enjoyed our visit from Josh's mom, and learned a lot about working in an emergency room. This week, Sara was our last "student of the week". We also learned alot about working with animals. Thanks ladies, for all the great treats and information, the children really enjoyed it!
For the rest of the year, I will be choosing a "busy bee" of the week. The student will be chosen on the basis of the quality of completed work, appropriate behavior, and kindness to classmates. If your child is chosen as the busy bee, they will be bringing home a certificate and a stuffed bee, that they can keep for the weekend. Please be sure that the bee returns to school on Monday, so we can continue this reward system. It will be a huge honor to be chosen, because they will be an example for their classmates, of what a hardworking student can accomplish. Encourage your child to continue to always give their best effort.
Thank you for your continued support. Have a nice weekend!
