Friday Update

We have been working hard this week, once again. The children enjoyed learning more about China and Chinese New Year. We just finished a unit on multiplication, in math. Please keep working on multiplication and division facts at home.

Thank you to the students who have already turned in their November book reports. Remember your report, over 100 pages, is due by Monday, December 1st.

Congratulations go to the following students who earned an "A" on the unit 4 multiplication test. They were Philip, Bethanie, Nathan, Michelle, Morgan, Brett, and Josey. Great job math bees!

Also a great big "Way to go" goes out to the students who earned a "100" on the review spelling test on Wednesday. They were Rachel, Philip, Jacob, Bobby, Jeremy, Becca, Audrey, Nathan, Breeanna, Julia, Kimberlee, Kyle, Morgan, Brett, and Josey!! Great job everyone!!

The children were talking about wanting to adopt a soldier for Christmas. If anyone has a family member that is currently serving, could you get us their address. We would like to collect items for a care package, that we could send over before Christmas time.

Don't forget the Christmas Program for 3rd and 4th graders is coming up on Tuesday, December 2nd, at the high school.

Have a great weekend!!

Friday Update

The children continue to work very hard. This week they enjoyed reading a story about a Tewa Indian tribe. They also worked very hard on a composition about what they would do if they were the president of the United States.

If you have any questions about the book reports or the monthly reading goal, let me know. Your child should have already brought home a letter explaining the program and four copies of the book report form.

Continue working on basic math facts at home. We have now moved in to multiplication. Memorizing the facts will make things so much easier, when we move to harder problems.

Congratulations go to the following students who earned an "A+" on the trial spelling test. They were Rachel, Philip, Bethanie, Jacob, Bobby, Jeremy, Becca, Audrey, Nathan, Breeanna, Julia, Will, Michelle, Kimberlee, Kyle, Morgan, Cole, Brett, and Josey!!!! Great job busy bees!!

A great big thank you goes out to Mrs. Elliott for coming in and talking about her job at Duke Energy. We learned a great deal. We also enjoyed learning more about Becca this week. Next week's student of the week is Brett.

Have a nice weekend!
