Ideas for Helping Your Child

l. Parents, you do your part to improve homework when you:

Cooperate with the school to make homework effective.

Provide your child with suitable study conditions (desk or table, lights, books, and supplies).

Reserve a time for homework.

Encourage your child, but avoid undue pressure.

Show interest in what your child is doing, but do not do the work for the child.

Understand that the school expects homework to be completed and returned. Check and sign assignment books. (Grades 3 and 4)

2. Children will improve their study habits by observing the following:

Be sure you understand each assignment.

Record assignments in your assignment book.

Form the habit of using a certain time and place for study.

Have necessary materials at hand.

Try to develop the skill of working independently.
